Established in 1982 by the United States Department of Commerce, the Tampa Foreign Trade Zone is one of 18 zones in the state of Florida and part of a network of zones throughout 50 states and Puerto Rico.

Our Foreign Trade Zone is managed by the Tampa Foreign Trade Zone Board, Inc., a non-profit corporation. The board consists of representatives from the City of Tampa, Hillsborough County, the Tampa Port Authority, the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority and the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation, which provides staff support for the Tampa Foreign Trade Zone.
