Situation
Trammell Crow’s Corporate Food Group in Chicago was looking to secure a tenant for the former Archway Cookies facility in Plant City

This became an opportunity to save the jobs of 200 longtime employees who had survived the sale of Dad’s Cookies to Parmalat, which then sold to Archway
Many inquiries that were received for potential building usage were not deemed to be in the best interest of the laid-off workers

Solution
Tampa Hillsborough EDC staff provided:

Presentations about incentives, the community in general and other Plant City food processors to various interested parties
Responses to several inquiries from out-of-state representatives interested in the property, which translated into the emergence of two serious contenders
Expedited permitting

Result

Toufayan Bakeries, a family-owned business, purchased the site, and:

Announced two expansions of the 65,425-square-foot facility since then
Re-opened the former Dad’s Cookies/Archway retail store, a favorite stop of residents and visitors
