Tampa is a team town! If football’s your game, we boast the 2003 Super Bowl champion
Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In fact, Tampa was Super Bowl host city in 1984, 1991, 2001 and 2009.
College football your thing? Then you’ll enjoy our
University of South Florida Bulls. And, the
Outback Bowl provides championship NCAA football in January.
For arena football fans, the
Tampa Bay Storm kicks up some fun during our summer months.
For baseball, look to the
Tampa Bay Rays based in nearby St. Petersburg. Baseball fan numbers swell when New York Yankees afficionados travel from all over the country to watch their team during spring training at
Tampa’s Steinbrenner Field.
For hockey fans, we’ve got the 2004 Stanley Cup champion
Tampa Bay Lighting.
There are also multiple venues for participation in amateur sports, including an array of year-round golf courses.
And, of course, the area is surrounded by water and provides easy access for swimming, water skiing, fishing, boating, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, cruising, and even dragon boat racing (check it out – we’ll be host city for the
2011 World Dragon Boat Racing Championship). You name it, we’ve got it!
