Gasparilla Pirate Fest

Gasparilla Pirate Fest is a free community event, hosted by the Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla with over 100 years of history in Tampa, Florida. Held each year in late January, the parade celebrates the apocryphal legend of Jose Gaspar (Gasparilla) who was supposedly a Spanish pirate captain who terrorized and invaded the coastal waters of West Florida during the late 18th and early 19th century. Today, the parade floods with pirate décor and costumes, beads, pirate ship floats, crowds of joyful people, and much treasured fun.

Gasparilla festivities include both the Children's Gasparilla Extravaganza and the Gasparilla Pirate Fest. Join the Tampa community for a historical and thrilling event you do not want to miss! Arrrrrgh!
